The "Samurdhi Abhimani 2021" Trade fair with the theme "Beloved Vendors" organized by the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Community Based Banking Association for the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year was held on 08^th and 09^th April 2021 at the Kotte Municipal Council premises.

This fair was organized to provide an opportunity for Samurdhi beneficiaries to emerge as entrepreneurs in order to market their products.

The Hon. Mayor of Kotte Mr. I. M. V. Premalal, a group of Municipal Councilors, Kotte Divisional Secretary Mr. Kasun Epa Seneviratne, Zonal Manager of the Sri Jayawardenapura Samurdhi Bank Mrs. Tharangani, Project Manager Mr. Aruna Gunaratne, Director of Community Based Banking Societies Mrs. Ramani Perera, Samurdhi Zonal Assistant Mrs. Krishanthi and many other officials were present at the event.

Main roads and by roads in Obeysekarapura, Rajagiriya and Beddagana areas were cleaned on April 6, 2021 under the Urban beautification and cleaning Shramadana program launched on March 29, 2021 by the Municipal Health Department of the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council.

The road and by roads running towards Polduwa Bridge through Pagoda to Nugegoda, Nawala and Rajagiriya were cleaned on 31^st of March 2021 under the Urban beautification and cleaning Shramadana program launched by Municipal Health Department of the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council on 29^th of March 2021.

Face masks were donated by the Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association to officers of the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council on 5^th of April 2021 in order to protect themselves from the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.

The face masks were handed over to the Hon. Mayor of Kotte Mr. I. M. V. Premalal by the Member of Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association Municipal Commissioner Mr. P. L. M. Chathuranga on behalf of the Association in the Kotte Municipal Council premises.

A massive Shramadana series was launched in the Kotte Municipal Council area on 29^th of March 2021 which was led by the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council with the instructions of His Excellency the President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the Hon. Governor of the Western Province Roshan Goonetilleke, the Hon. Member of Parliament for Colombo District Attorney-at-Law Madura Vithanage and the Hon. Mayor of Kotte Mr. I. M. V. Premalal.

The objective of this program is to beautify the city, develop infrastructure and create a clean and healthy environment in the city within the Kotte Municipal Council area, the capital of Sri Lanka.

Colombo District Hon. Member of Parliament Attorney-at-Law Madura Vithanage presided over the function. The Hon. Mayor of Kotte Mr. I. M. V. Premalal, Hon. Municipal Councilors, Municipal Commissioner Mr. P. L. M. Chathuranga and Chief Medical Officer of the Municipal Council Dr. Manoj Rodrigo, Senior Superintendent of Police (Nugegoda), Officials from the Land Reclamation and Development Authority and the Road Development Authority were present.
