A reading camp was organized on 31^st March 2022 at Sri Jayawardenapura Maha Vidyalaya, Kotte with the aim of directing school children for reading.

This was organized by the Rajagiriya Central Library affiliated to the Kotte Municipal Council. The camp was conducted by the Chief Librarian Sujeewa Fernando.

Principal Mr. D.A.D. Wanaguru, Principal of the Primary Division, teachers, Rajagiriya Central Library staff, Hon. Kotte Municipal Councilor Denzil Padmasiri and others were present at the occasion.

Ceremony for admitting new children and to commence work of Kids Venture Montessori and Day Care Center administered by the Kotte Municipal Council which is located in Rajagiriya Garden Road, Rajagiriya was held on 14th March 2022.

Hon. Mayor Mr. I.M.V. Premalal, Hon. Councilors Mr. Denzil Padmasiri, Mr. Henry Amarasinghe, Mr. Prabadh Thushara, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Shalika S. Ranaweera, Municipal Secretary Mrs. D.P.H. Smarawickrama, Chief Medical Officer of Health Doctor Manoj Rodrigo and Assistant Municipal Engineer Mr. Ajith Hettiarachchi were present at the occasion.

The ceremony to handover the automation project of the Udahamulla Public Library to its readers affiliated to the Kotte Municipal Council was held on 24^th February 2022 at the Udahamulla library.

Colombo District Hon. Minister of Parliament Attorney-at-Law Madhura Vithanage, Hon. Councilors Densil Padmasiri, Damitha Pushpakumara, Asela Chaminda Perera, Neesha Wasanthi, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Shalika S. Ranaweera, Municipal Secretary Mrs. D. P. H. Smarawickrama, Vhief Librarian Mr. N. S. Perera including the staff of Rajagiriya and Beddagana Libraries were participated at the location.

To celebrate the International Women's Day, a medical clinic was organized on 08^th March 2022 at the premises of Kotte Municipal Council with the objective of improving the health of the employees of the Kotte Municipal Council.

The clinic was conducted by the Ministry of Health and Nutrition as per a request made by Hon. Mayor of Kotte Mr. I. M. V. Premalal.

The third dose of Covid prevention vaccine was also given at this clinic. Hon. Colombo District Minister of Parliament Attorney-at-Law Madura Vithanage, Hon. Mayor of Kotte Mr. I. M. V. Premalal, Hon. Municipal Councilor Mr. Denzil Padmasiri, Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Shalika S. Ranaweera and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Manoj Rodrigo were present at the event.

Several projects were commenced Beddagana, Ethul Kotte with the leadership of Hon. Mayor of Kotte Mr. I.M.V. Premalal on 3^rd February 2022 under the project "Ayawayen Weda Lakshayak" in line with a budget proposal by Hon. Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa. Provision of financial assistance to 26 self-employed persons in the Beddagana area to develop their businesses and to modernize the ‘Beddagana Seva Piyasa’ to facilitate the provision of public services were among the projects.
